Did you know that in the first 3 months of 2023, wind farms generated more of the UK’s electricity than gas for the first time ever? Only 10 years ago, the UK generated more than three-quarters of its power from fossil fuels, mostly gas and coal, but the climate emergency has prompted a move to renewable energy sources.

However, some people think that relying on renewable energy would make the UK energy-insecure, meaning the provision of energy might not be safe, affordable and reliable.
