The UK government recently announced that sales of new petrol and diesel cars will be banned by 2030 and new hybrid car sales banned from 2035. Thereafter, all new cars and vans must be fully zero emission. The announcement is part of the government’s green industrial strategy to support green jobs and accelerate the UK towards becoming net zero by 2050. Net zero means the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere is equal to the amount removed.
