Wind energy is wonderful, but it’s not always windy. Solar power is sensational, but it’s not always sunny. It seems that we will have to rely on fossil fuels for some time to come, but does that mean we must accept the continuing increase of carbon dioxide emissions? Not if new technologies prove successful. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) removes carbon dioxide from emissions before release, concentrates and transports it and then stores it deep underground.
