Wind farm near Langford

Controversial plans have been accepted for ten wind turbines to be built northeast of Langford, a small linear village situated in Bedfordshire (Figure 1). Langford lies along the River Ivel and in the 2011 census had a population of 3,000. The wind farm is a great step forward for Bedfordshire’s renewable energy sources, but is it all good news?

More and more emphasis is being placed on reducing carbon emissions to save the environment. The UK released over 530 million tonnes of carbon dioxide in 2010, which added to global warming.
