The Peak District National Park was Britain’s first national park, established in 1951. Surrounded by the urban centres of Manchester, Sheffield and Derby, it is the most intensively used of all Britain’s national parks. Look at www.peakdistrict-nationalpark.info and select the <Study area> option from the top menu. This will help you locate the park and give you an overview of its landscape features. Below the ‘For Secondary School’ title, select the first option, ‘Download a copy of the Peak District National Park talk’. Explore the talk in either the Powerpoint or printer version and look at the park map.
