School subcultures

Following on from our previous issue, we explore a sample answer to the school subcultures question

In the February issue of SOCIOLOGY REVIEW, we asked you to think about, and ideally write an answer to, a practice AQA-style Methods in Context question — atype of question which appears on both AS and A-level papers. In this issue, we look at a sample answer and provide a commentary on it, pointing out its strengths and weaknesses.

If you have written your own answer, you can compare it with the sample provided here and consider the strengths and weaknesses of your own attempt. This should help you to develop your technique in answering this type of question and, in particular, assist you in developing your application skills, which are crucial for Methods in Context questions.
