eyes on the net

There is a whole world of sociology to explore on YouTube. Searching in Google under ‘A-level sociology revision’ I found this YouTube link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlErpIirKrw, a short video on research methods. This is effectively a set of slides containing essential information about various methods. You are in the hands of the creator of the video in terms of the accuracy and usefulness of the content, but by looking at the related comments below the video you can evaluate the material you are reading. Note that some of the comments are slightly impolite about teachers. Remember that this is an open resource — would you really want your teacher to read inappropriate commentary from you in a public space like YouTube? This particular video had used copyrighted music as background, and because the copyright holder had objected it has been muted.

Down the right-hand side of the webpage, there are links to other videos that you might find useful, some on research methods but several on other topics — education, families and households, material and cultural deprivation and so on.
