Changing religious beliefs in Britain

These days Britain is often thought of as becoming ever more secular. But how are levels of religious belief changing? And which groups are still likely to be ‘religious’?

Ben Clements analyses data from two different longitudinal surveys to identify some of the changes that have taken place in religious beliefs over time in Britain. He also looks at some of the variables in levels of belief, concluding that age and gender are significant, and shows variations in belief between different Christian groups.
