From ‘underclass’ to ‘overclass’?

In this issue of SOCIOLOGY REVIEW we look at a slightly different type of internet resource, The Student Room (TSR): www.thestudentroom.co.uk. TSR has discussion threads on a large number of issues, as I discovered while searching for an answer to the question ‘Is A-level sociology hard?’

The beauty of this thread is that genuine A-level sociology students appear to have answered the question, with the range of attitudes you might expect when you put several argumentative sociology students in the same room, albeit a virtual one. One or two thought it was relatively easy (I wonder what grade they got) and the majority seemed to enjoy it, but the most thoughtful response included this paragraph:
