Revision techniques

Mobilise your mobile

Mobile phones provide opportunities to do some revision wherever you are.

Most of us now rely on our mobile phones. Mobile communications are a sociological phenomenon in their own right — the social benefits of mobile phones are obvious to all, and mobiles can also play a key part in your education. They can help you get to grips with sociology and be a very valuable tool and storage device for revising.

A standard revision technique that is used by most students in all subjects and recommended by teachers is flash cards. Most mobiles have cameras and can therefore make multiple flash cards in very different ways. You can snap key notes and work completed in class or as homework. Better still, you can design your own flash cards with text, diagrams, key statistics, posters and pictures and store them on the phone. Instead of carrying around flash cards and bits of paper you can be revising with your mobile.
