The twentieth-century Holocaust appears most often in examination answers on the ‘Problem of evil’. Too many students’ answers on this topic begin ‘There are two types of evil: natural evil and moral evil. An example of natural evil is the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004, and an example of moral evil is the Holocaust.’
