Sales figures for the novels and audience numbers for the film versions of Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code (2006) (box office takings $125,000,000) and Angels & Demons (2009) (box office takings $150,000,000) suggest that there is an ever-present fascination for religious conspiracy materials.
In fact Dan Brown has written five novels: Digital Fortress (1998), Angels & Demons (2000), Deception Point (2201), The Da Vinci Code (2003) and The Lost Symbol (2009). However, although it must be almost certain that a film will be made of The Lost Symbol, there is no interest in the other two books, which do not deal with religious ideas.
