Quantum mechanics and a religious world view

Quantum mechanics is one of the four topics that feature on the RSS04 paper and which may send shivers of alarm through some religious studies students. David Kendall unravels its mysteries.

As this is the first time that this paper has been set it is not altogether clear what the questions will focus on. However, we have been given some paradigm questions by the examination board and I will be taking my lead from these:

Summarise the main features of the world view of quantum mechanics. (30 marks)
