Clinical psychologist Zoe Young explains how the therapies in your specifications don’t reflect the therapies that are being used today in the real world

As clinical psychologists, we have many facets to our role, only one of which is delivering therapy. In the NHS, we also teach and train other staff in working psychologically, we provide supervision and consultation to psychologists and other mental health professionals, we conduct research, and we work on service development. It is a varied role that uses many different skills, but delivering therapy is one aspect that is particularly rewarding as you get to have a direct impact on someone’s wellbeing.
