The ‘Classic evidence’ section of the Unit 1 (WJEC)/Component 1 (Eduqas) specification consists of five research studies, with one study taken from each of the five approaches in your course (see Table 1, below). The studies are all well-known pieces of evidence that demonstrate some of the key concepts in psychology. You will always be given the full title of the study in an exam question.

The specification states that you need to: ‘know, understand and make judgements on each classic piece of evidence (including methodology, procedures, findings and conclusions, plus ethical issues and social implications)’. Exam questions use these specification terms, so it is important that you have a clear understanding of each of them to ensure that you use the right information when constructing your answer.
