In twenty-first-century society, we spend a significant amount of our time using technology and the internet. Technologies and internet connectivity allow us to do a wide range of everyday activities such as: socialise, work, study and access entertainment, services and information. It is therefore important that we, as psychologists, understand how such technologies relate to the human experience. Psychology, of course, is focused on understanding human thought, feelings and behaviour. In contemporary society, therefore, it seems important that we explore the way our interactions with technology and the internet impact on our thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
