A cautionary tale

Who doesn’t take a selfie once in a while? ‘Here’s me at the shops’, ‘Here’s me at the pool’, ‘Here’s me on a train’, and so on. What is the harm in that?

A couple of years ago a made-up story appeared on a humorous website that invented the term selfitis to describe people who are addicted to taking selfies. Many news feeds treated the story as if it was true.
