There are many things in the world that can be considered controversial, such as killing off a well-loved TV character, or Brexit. Whatever it is, such things share the fact that they are issues that create disagreement and involve heated discussions about two sides of an argument. There is also unlikely to be a simple answer.

The same is true of controversies in psychology, which are examined in Unit/Component 3 of the WJEC/Eduqas psychology exam. These topics are a chance to demonstrate what you have learned in the rest of the course and apply this knowledge to things that have created debates and arguments in psychology.
