Matt Jarvis gives a run-down of the best online resources for psychology students. In this issue: finding film footage of psychology studies, and resources to support your understanding of social learning theory

Hearing and reading about psychological research is all well and good. But for most of us there is nothing quite like seeing it all happening to really understand a study. There are many good sources of video material online, and I recommend that whenever you are looking at a piece of research in detail it is well worth having a look for a video.

The obvious place to start is YouTube, and certainly you will find plenty of footage of key studies there. However, much of the best material on YouTube breaches copyright and so gets taken down. If you can’t find what you are looking for on YouTube, give DailyMotion (www.dailymotion.com) and Vimeo (www.vimeo.com) a try.
