Every exam paper is different. However, students should be mindful of the following skills that are likely to be a central requirement of any paper. Extended response questions (‘essays’) are an important feature of all four units on the AQA (B) specification and, as such, all of the points in this piece are relevant at both AS and A2.
What does it mean to use evidence effectively? Many candidates appear to have a good working knowledge of the studies and investigations they come across during their A-level course, and can typically offer detailed descriptions of these in the exam. However, using this evidence to support or contradict particular theories, models, therapies etc. often proves more problematic.
