In a psychology exam we are often required to evaluate a research study. However, do you actually understand the term ‘evaluation’ or the reason why we evaluate our research?

First of all, evaluation means to determine the value of something. For example, when we describe a study it is important to ask ourselves, ‘Is this a valuable study and in what way(s)?’ So we ought to consider the strengths and limitations of a particular study.
