In the last issue of PSYCHOLOGY REVIEW, we looked at your options immediately following A-level psychology, including job and work experience opportunities and obtaining a place on a psychology degree course. Now let’s move on to the world of proper employment…

Psychologists work in a variety of environments, doing a variety of tasks and with a variety of different people. They all share a passion for applying the knowledge and skills developed during their psychology degree, and usually (but not necessarily) have a higher psychology degree (e.g. a Masters degree) prior to entry into their chosen profession. These different psychology professions are illustrated in Figure 1. (We’ll be looking at the last three on this list in the next issue.)
