This column is intended for students who follow the WJEC specification — but the examiner comments are equally relevant to many other boards as similar criteria for ‘description’ (AO1) and ‘evaluation’ (AO2) are used.

The student answer below is for a question on the topic of relationships from the June 2009 paper. This may not be one of the topics you study but nevertheless there are lessons to be learned from reading the examiner’s commentary to see how the marks have been won and lost. Such insight should help you improve your own exam answers.
