Calling OCR psychology students

In this column we invite experienced examiners from the various exam boards to offer you invaluable advice to help boost your performance in the exams. Molly Marshall offers some tips based on the experience of OCR students but useful for everyone.

If you are an AS student, you are probably only just getting to grips with psychology as a science. You may be surprised — and hopefully pleased — by what you have learned so far. If you are an A2 student, you may have achieved excellent grades in the AS exams, or you may have retaken one of the G541 and/or G542 exams in January to try to improve your grade. Whichever is the case, you are probably already thinking about AS/A2 exams this year, and you will find the following suggestions helpful.

As an A2 student, whichever applied units you are studying, you will be learning more psychological theory and yet more research studies, as well as practising writing answers to the types of essay questions you will encounter in G543 and G544 exams.
