T he source work option for the Edexcel board is awarded 60 out of the 252 marks available for A-level Politics and arises as a compulsory question in Paper 1 (UK political participation) and Paper 2 (UK government).

The sources should be at the heart of your answer but equally you should avoid lengthy quotes from them. Each answer should take you about 45 minutes and is marked out of 30. You need to read the sources at least twice and then plan your answer, picking out your strongest and weakest arguments and counter-arguments.
