Global ‘power and developments’ features in Unit 3 (global politics) of the Edexcel specification. Questions on different types of power could appear in any section. Remember that if a question on power appears in Section B, your answer will need to refer to core (conservative, liberal, socialist) thinkers.
Power is the ability to exert influence over others to do something they would not otherwise do. This has nothing to do with legality or authority gained from elections — it is about having the resources, military might, persuasiveness or integrity to make others do what you want.
