Tackling 12-mark comparative questions

There are two types of 12-mark question that you will be expected to answer, and both of them appear in Paper 3. These questions require you to compare the way government and politics works in the UK with the equivalent processes in the USA (see Table 1 for an overview). You should try to write three paragraphs, covering three similarities or three differences between the two countries, depending on what the question asks you to focus on. Each paragraph should take a different theme that relates to what you are being asked to compare.
