Effective use of examples in A2 US politics: the 3Rs approach

One of the keys to success in AQA A2 US politics is to use specific examples and to use them appropriately. It helps with all the assessment objectives, not least AO1, which specifically states that for the top level, excellent examples should be used to illustrate the points made. Examples also enhance the quality of analysis (AO2) and the standard of communication (AO3). But how should you put this into practice when answering questions on US politics? A good starting point is to think about the 3Rs approach:
