George Boss argues that although there are obvious affinities between nationalism and racialism the two are clearly distinct

Nationalist organisations often face accusations that their nationalism is in fact a veil for a closet racialism. Similarly, racialist organisations often insist that they should be considered not as racists or racialists but as nationalists. This suggests two things:
