In September 2012, David Cameron’s first cabinet reshuffle reduced the number of women cabinet ministers from five to four:

■ Cheryl Gillan, Caroline Spelman and Baroness Warsi were dismissed — Warsi still attends cabinet as minister for faith and communities but is not a full member.
