The James Webb Space Telescope

The James Webb Space Telescope is a triumph of science and engineering. It is our eye on the cosmos at near-infrared wavelengths, enabling us to see much further than the Hubble Space Telescope and therefore further back in time

The James Webb Space Telescope is designed to increase our knowledge about some of the great mysteries of the universe, making observations using infrared radiation. It will add to our knowledge of cosmology, give a clearer picture of the early universe and how galaxies developed, and may shed new light on dark matter and dark energy. It will also enable us to investigate the atmospheres of exoplanets in our search for extraterrestrial life.
