Using a spreadsheet to model rates of change

A-level specifications expect you to be able to solve equations involving rates of change using spreadsheet modelling. Simon Carson explains how

Physicists use mathematics to describe the laws of nature, often writing ‘differential equations’. These are ones that describe how quickly a quantity changes. To make this more concrete, let us take a simple example — the speed of an object travelling in a straight line.
