Air resistance

We often ignore air resistance in calculations, but air (e.g. a strong wind) can exert a large force.

When an object moves through a fluid (any gas or liquid) it experiences forces that affect the way it moves. The fluid can provide lift that enables aircraft to fly (pp. 18–20) and drag that impedes motion.
