In February 2014 the Sochi Winter Olympics will begin and public expectation will be high, given what was achieved at London 2012. As a psychologist working with the Great Britain short track speed skating team, my role has been to help prepare our athletes for the challenges they will face.

Short track is one of a few winter sports where British medals are possible. However, the expectation that we can win medals brings its own type of pressure, given that the last British medal was won in 1994 by our coach Nicky Gooch.
