PHED4 assessment

Nigel Howells provides information to help you understand how you will be assessed in PHED4, and provides you with some tips on how to be successful.

As a performer, you will be assessed on technical quality and strategic awareness. You should demonstrate a range of skills and comply with the rules that apply. You will then need to analyse your own performance and compare it with that of an elite performer for sections B and C

The new AQA specification was launched last year and many of you will have completed the AS course and are now contemplating the A2 course. The focus of PHED4 is for candidates to improve their personal performance, as a practical performer, coach/leader or official, in one activity. You only select one role and one activity, for example as a performer in badminton or as a leader/coach in volleyball. This can be the same or different from the activity and roles that you completed for AS.
