Sports technology is an important topic for all the major exam board specifications.

Technology is a key part of everyday life. This is also true within sport. Many sports rely on technology to springboard them towards popularity and therefore an increase in revenue. This has a knock-on effect for the athletes, coaches, venues, staff and sponsors. However, there is an ever-increasing debate surrounding whether technology is taking away the ‘pureness’ of competitive sport and making it more clinical. Technology has an effect on overall results and perceptions of teams, the sports themselves and, ultimately, the athletes.
