Attribution theory is a topic covered by all three major exam boards.

The psychologists Susan Fiske and Shelley Taylor suggested that attribution theory deals with how the social perceiver uses information to arrive at causal explanations for events. It examines what information is gathered and how that information is combined to form a causal judgement. In other words, it deals with the reasons we give for winning and losing in sport.
