Getting the little things right

An interview with Dom Young

Rugby league international Dom Young talks to PE REVIEW about preparation, nutrition and recovery

Stress management techniques, nutrition and recovery are all exam topics for the major exam boards.

Before the Rugby League World Cup, the English public knew little about Dom Young but fast forward a few weeks and he became a household name. In just 5 matches, Young scored 9 tries, made 875 run metres, 247 post-contact metres, 17 tackle breaks and 7 line breaks — placing him among the top performers. Young’s selection for England came after a breakthrough season in the National Rugby League (NRL) for Newcastle Knights. At 200 cm, weighing 105 kg and the second fastest player in the NRL, Young is a force to be reckoned with.
