All of the major exam boards require knowledge of stress management techniques.

It is becoming increasingly common for athletes to transition from trackand-field events such as sprinting, long jump and multi-events, to ice sports such as skeleton and bobsleigh. The similarities between the different sports from a physiological aspect is what allows athletes to transition so quickly. The recruitment of the fast-twitch muscle fibres in sprinting is the same for skeleton and bobsleigh. It is the equivalent of a 60m sprint, only instead of being conducted on a running track, it is on ice. There are other similarities that allow athletes to transition from track to ice quicker than between other sports.
