Interview with elite gymnast Alice Kinsella

Alice Kinsella is a member of the Team England and Team GB artistic gymnastics teams. She was a three-time medallist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, including a gold on the beam, and became the first British woman to win a European Championships gold on the beam in 2019. She spoke to Deji Akande about her achievements

DA When did you start taking part in gymnastics, and what was it about the sport that attracted you to it?

AK I started gymnastics when I was 3 years old. I started in a PE lesson and absolutely loved it. After that lesson I decided to join a gymnastics club and carry on training there. Another reason I started was because my sister started gymnastics before me, and she loved it so I really wanted a go at it.
