Both the AQA and the OCR specifications require knowledge of the dissociation of haemoglobin.

Oxygen diffuses through the alveoli in the lungs, into the (pulmonar y) blood capillaries and is then transported to the working muscles, where it is used to resynthesise ATP through aerobic processes.
