Daniel Ashworth explains how UKAD fights the drug cheats

UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) is the national organisation dedicated to ensuring that sport is free of performance-enhancing drugs. Founded in 2009, it is accountable to parliament through the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and follows the World Anti-Doping Code. Its functions include:

■ detecting and detering doping through intelligence-led testing programmes and education programmes for athletes, coaches and support staff across more than 40 Olympic, Paralympic and professional sports
