A performer’s view

Pam Cookey in action for England

We have all seen elite performers achieve their ultimate sporting goals, whether it’s Mo Farah or Hannah Cockroft achieving gold medals, Andy Murray finally winning Wimbledon, or a host of other names such as Jessica Ennis, Victoria Pendleton and Pam Cookey. All these athletes have one thing in common: they have reached the top of their respective sports through a massive amount of dedication, hard work and sacrifice to develop their own particular talents.

The one name you might not recognise in the list above is Pam Cookey. She is England’s netball captain and very much a role model of mine.
