Tony Blair’s general election victories at the start of the twenty-first century proved that the Labour Party had ended the Conservative Party’s long run of domination in domestic politics. It was a totally different position from that in which the Labour Party found itself during the early years of the twentieth century.
The Labour Representation Committee (LRC) was formed in 1900 through the cooperation of trade unionists, Socialists and other groups. At this time, the Labour movement was weak, but it managed to establish itself as a political force with the help of the Liberal Party.
