The Churchill Archives Centre

The Churchill Archives Centre has made a range of online resources available to students. Archivist Katherine Thompson describes the collection

Here at the Churchill Archives Centre, it is of course the Churchill Papers that we are best known for (the clue is in the name), but we also have about 600 other collections. Over the years, we have developed a number of online resources, several of which are aimed specifically at schools. They can be found here: (tinyurl.com/nwa7cuw).

Although there is no substitute for actually having a piece of paper written and handled by Churchill in front of you (complete with cigar burns and peck marks from his pet budgerigar, in a few cases), it isn’t always possible for researchers to come to us in person, even when there isn’t a global pandemic.
