Regardless of which examination board you are studying, you will be expected to answer an interpretations-based question at AS. Box 1 contains a brief summary of where you find the interpretations question at AS for each exam board.

It is important that you are able to look critically at the ideas and interpretations that you are presented with and make judgements about their validity. It is crucial that you understand that events, ideas and issues in the past will give rise to a variety of different views and explanations.
