Water pollution and poor management of water resources is something rarely out of the news, it seems. Whether it is pollution of the sea from illegal sewage discharges or contamination of inland lakes and waterways, water pollution and water quality are major environmental concerns. Pollution has immediate social and economic consequences and, in some instances, can disrupt complex biogeochemical cycles.

In A-level geography there are many refences and links to water pollution within the specifications, but it is likely that you will find the deepest links within water insecurity topics.
