Geography has been my favourite subject for as long as I can remember, so it was not a difficult choice when I was deciding what I wanted to study at university. I’ve always loved the breadth of topics that the subject has to offer and the opportunity to understand how different aspects of the human and physical world fit together into the society we see today.
Choosing what to do after I had finished my degree was much more difficult. I knew that I wanted a career in a geography-related field that involved working with people and some sort of management, but I was not sure what options were available to me. A friend suggested I consider consultancy, which had the added advantage of offering training programmes for graduates. I applied, was successful and I have not looked back since.
