MAKING THE GRADE: QUESTION AND ANSWER

Perspectives on place

This issue’s Question and Answer takes questions from the 2018 AQA Human Geography Paper 2 exam paper. The questions are focused on the Changing Places topic, covering factors affecting the perceptions and experience of places and with a focus on qualitative versus quantitative data. Questions range from a 4-mark point-marked question up to a challenging 20-mark essay. Changing Places is covered by other specifications, although question style and mark tariffs will vary (see Box 1). The exam comments are the responsibility of GEOGRAPHY REVIEW and have neither been provided nor approved by the examination board. The answers given are not the only possible answers.

■ Edexcel: Topic 4 Shaping Places covers very similar themes as well as using similar question styles and mark tariffs.
