Air quality

In this issue, both Emma Rawlings Smith’s article on Birmingham (pages 30–33) and the Centrepiece on the COVID-19 lockdown (pages 20–21) focus on air quality, a topic that lends itself to an interesting NEA.

You could focus on how air pollution changes spatially, for example along a transect from the rural–urban fringe to the city centre or with distance from a major road, or temporally, for example over a period of a week. You could even use a combination of both.
